More than 1,600 students were named to The University of Scranton's Dean's List for the 2017 spring semester. The Dean's List recognizes students for academic excellence.

Elizabethtown (Pa.) College announced the names of students whose outstanding academic performances have earned them the recognition of being included on the spring 2017 dean's list. Students on the dean's list are full-time undergraduate students who earn a semester grade point average of 3.60 or better in 14 or more credit hours, of which at least 12 credits are letter-graded course work.

More than 1,660 students have been named to the Spring 2017 Dean's List at Kutztown University. To be eligible for the Dean's List, an undergraduate student must be registered for at least 12 credits and have a minimum grade point average of 3.60.

University of Scranton students inducted into the only existing international honor society in the computing and information disciplines (Upsilon Pi Epsilon).

Kutztown University inducted eight students into the Kappa Mu Epsilon National Honorary Mathematics Society. KME is a specialized honor society in Mathematics. KME was founded in 1931 to promote the interest of mathematics among undergraduate students. Its chapters are located in colleges and universities of recognized standing which offer a strong mathematics major.

The Kutztown University Department of Criminal Justice inducted 18 new members into the Alpha Phi Sigma Honor Society. Alpha Phi Sigma is the national criminal justice honor society. It was founded in 1942 at Washington State University and became affiliated with the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences (ACJS) in 1976. Today there are almost 300 Alpha Phi Sigma chapters around the country. KU's Kappa Alpha chapter of Alpha Phi Sigma was established in Spring 2008 with 13 founding members. To be eligible for membership, a student must be a criminal justice major or minor, have completed at least 40 credit hours, including at least four criminal justice courses, have an overall QPA of 3.2 or higher, and have a QPA in criminal justice courses of 3.2 or higher.

Students who receive a term grade point average of 3.3 or higher while completing at least 3 courses for a conventional letter grade earn the fall Dean's Award for Academic Excellence.

Hard work in high school has paid off for college-bound seniors. The following students have earned Merit Scholarships to attend Alvernia University this fall.

Kutztown University has conferred degrees on nearly 700 students during the summer and fall terms. Kutztown University announces degree conferment twice a year, once in the winter and once in the summer. Commencement exercises are held in May and December; however, students finish their requirements for graduation throughout the entire year. The cumulative grade point average necessary for honor distinction is: with honor (cum laude) 3.40; with high honor (magna cum laude) 3.60 and with highest honor (summa cum laude) 3.80. The following students have been awarded degrees since the summer 2016 announcement. Students who have requested privacy (FERPA) are not listed publicly.

Over 180 Ithaca College students have been inducted into the Oracle Honor Society. The Oracle Honor Society is a historic Ithaca College honor society that recognizes academic excellence. New students who achieve a GPA within the top 10 percent of students in their academic school after completing two full semesters at the college are invited to accept membership into the society.

A total of 437 Mansfield University students have been named to the Dean's list for the fall 2016 semester. To be named to the Dean's list, a student must attend the university full-time and earn at least a 3.5 GPA.

Loyola University Maryland welcomed the members of its class of 2020. As first-year students embark on their college experience, they will all take part in Loyola's living learning program, Messina. The common text for Messina is How to Win an Election, Quintus Tullius Cicero's letter to his brother, Marcus Cicero, a candidate for Consul (the highest office in the Roman church) in 64 B.C.

In Commencement exercises on May 17, 2016, FDU conferred more than 3,000 degrees, ranging from associates to doctorates, on graduates, at MetLife Stadium.
